Somewhere over the Rainbow

A very good friend of mine posted this on FB and I think I've watched it 4 or 5 times, so I thought I would share! I have always loved how IZ sings this song, but today it has caused me to be somwhat reflective. It's Mother's Day, which is not the easiest day for me, for many reasons. I am far away from my mother, for one, and I have a strong desire to be a mother, which I am not yet. I also think of my 2 nephews who passed away, and the great mother my sister is to her little miracle. It's just an emotional day! Sheesh! But, I think of all the wonderful blessings that are to come to Josh and I and I am moved to tears because I am so thankful to have a loving Heavenly Father and Mother.

Happy Mother's Day from Mr. T!!

Sometimes the best thing to do is to let Mr. T express your true feelings for your Mom through song...LOL!! I LOVE this video, so awesome! Happy Mother's Day, Mom! We love you (yes, even Mr. T loves you!!)

Spring Has Sprung!!

Being new to Texas, I haven't ever experienced anything quite like the explosion of wildflowers that spring brings. It's really pretty and I love the fields of bluebonnets I pass on my way home from work. I love it!
On the other hand, I am SO not a fan of all the dang pollen in the air here...my allergies are on overload! I have been coughing (just ask Josh) and sneezing for weeks! It's insane!
So, for now, I will continue to pop the anti-histamines and speak with a husky voice...ugh, it's great! I'm thinking we should have bought stock in Kleenex too...

Footprints

Footprints
"One night I had a dream--I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord and across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints, one belonged to me and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before me,I looked back at the footprints in the sand.I noticed that many times along the path of my life, there was only one set of footprints.I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,you would walk with me all the way,but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. "I don't understand why in times when I needed you most, you should leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,I love you and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. "When you saw only one set of footprints,it was then that I carried you."

I have always loved this poem...more and more, I seem to be living it. Today was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. I feel like we are living trial after trial and never coming out ahead. Ugh. But today, as I drove home from work crying into my steering wheel, I realized that it would be ok...today, He carried me.

KISS!!

Ok, we just saw Gene Simmons' twin (make-up and all) at Fuzzy's Taco Shop!! LOL!!! It was a 12 year old girl who seriously looked just like this pic...awesome!! Why don't I carry my camera everywhere?! I was having a bad night of non-productive-work-shoe shopping (it's NOT fun to shoe shop when nothing fits right!) and we went to Fuzzy's for dinner. Gene's twin totally cheered me up! So, thank you creepy make-up girl for entertaining me!

Running On Empty

The other morning I got into my car to begin my hour long commute to work. As I started my car, I remembered that I had coasted in on fumes the night before and was too tired to stop for gas on my way home. To my surprise, my gas tank was full!! After I had gone to sleep, my loving husband went and filled my gas tank. I was SO grateful! Not only was he thoughtful, but he saved me time (I was running late that day!). As I drove to work, I thought about how sweet it was of Josh to do this for me and also how it is the little things, like this, that he does to make me love him. This week has been crazy at work, so 2 nights this week, Josh made dinner. (If you don't know Josh, this is a HUGE thing!) I am so grateful to be married to a loving man who will try his best to make sure I am never running on "empty".

He Lives!

I am eternally grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. I add my testimony to those who have come before me that Jesus is the Christ and that He was crucified and resurrected so that I may live again. I am so thankful to a loving Father in Heaven who sent His son to provide a way for us to return back to Him. As I have been sitting here pondering the gifts He has given me personally, I think that the most valueable one is the testimony I have of Him. It is truly amazing how over the years and through all the trials I have faced, my testimony has only grown stronger. I know He lives. I know He loves me. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is one of peace, mercy, and love. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it truly does stand as another testiment of Jesus Christ. How blessed we are because we know Him!
